Avoid bully dog! In the 6l. Your transmission will not like it. The simple "chips" fool the computer into making more power, but the gear shifts are still behaving like you have stock power during the shift, this puts huge load on the trans and you get to buy another trans.

If you must have a tuner, get an sct. If you want more power, get one of the shops to get you their custom tunes.

Just search on fte, or google sct tunes 6.0 and grab a few beers.

If not chip what's a good cost effective way to make more power with out causing problems? And i will probably end up changing axel gears. I'm currently installing BDS 6" Lift with 37x12.50tires and do pull a 30' 8000# springdale trailer

Bully Dog is still a transmission killer

The merge just occurred. It will take some time before we see if a new...better product emerges

SCT or nothing for now

Tune - chip ? That's why I'm asking I grew up with cubic inches, carbs, headers, camshafts and maybe a dozen fuses was the electrical system you know the good old days of suck gas and haul ***. I've never messed with a diesel before this is my second power stroke. Just looking for some advice. Trust me I never dive in with out research.

SCT tuners

Looking at their web site tells you all about their features but nothing about how much power gain ? Looking at SCT sf3 3015 power flash handheld programmer/scan tool $379 not bad.

SCT is your safest bet.
I've seen a combination of an Edge programmer and retardism destroy both a 6.0 and a Torque shift transmission.
