I found mine on Craigslist for $100 dollars. They are very proud of them on eBay or anywhere else. Took me a couple of months to find mine at a good deal.
I found one but the part number is for the limited function included with the ambulance package im wondering if it will work for my 7.3 2001 but i dont have the ambulance prep package
Here's a picture of mine with the burlwood cover.
Years ago, there was a guy that was building the mounting brackets that relocated the control head just a little. I can't recall if it moved it closer to the driver or closer to the center. Anyway, I got one, thank goodness. I don't think he makes them any more.

I would think it would work, just you are only going to have a preset high idle rpm and a a charge protect setting and that's it I think. You will not be able to adjust it with that model.

It will still provide high idle even though you don't have the ambulance package.
If you want High Idle feature, you have several options.
If you happen to have a PTO 4R100 trans then all you need is a simple toggle switch
You can make your own high idle system with various electronic parts by tapping into the idle validation and throttle position switch.
Purchase one of the Ford AIC modules. There are three variations out there and they all have the high idle feature
Purchase a chip with ability to switch between various calibrations. One calibration can be ordered as "high idle"
If your truck is not heavily modified, than you can get a Phoenix Chip from PHP for less than $300 and it comes with 6 calibrations. Pretty good deal IMO....

!!!!!!!!!!
I wish I knew this a while ago. I might just have a Factory Ford AIC for sale soon. Along with my SCT XCal2 programmer.
I'm on a "stock" rebuilt trans - done by an unknown NY shop by the PO. Nothing fancy here.
Then you are a great candidate for a PHP PHX chip for "Lightly Modified" vehicles.....(if you have the desire).
The AIC you have is the nice one (the model that I have is one step down from yours...). The unit you have has remote idle control capabilities. You will need to make up your own remote controls but the manual has instructions to show what you need. We use that feature on our aerial booms when we want fine adjustment on the bucket/baskets.
