Great Race

Ford trucks have long dominated the sales charts - in the U.S. and other parts of the globe where they're sold. Of course, pretty much everyone knows that the F-Series has topped the American sales charts for decades to this point, but the market has shifted quite a bit in recent years amid supply chain issues, soaring prices, and an increase in competition. Thus, here's an update on how Ford trucks have fared through the first half of 2024.

Ford Maverick

As of the end of June, the Ford Maverick didn't just top its segment - it also ranked sixth among all truck sales in the U.S. with 77,113 units sold. That's a massive 81.45 percent higher than H1 2023's total of 42,499 units, proving that the Maverick has real staying power with its low price tag and economical hybrid option.

Ford Ranger

As for the Ford Ranger, it has thus far enjoyed a rather slow launch in the U.S. after its debut for the 2024 model year, with The Blue Oval thus far struggling to build enough to meet demand. That also shows up in sales, as the Ranger is down 37 percent compared to H1 2023's total of 24,118 units sold, coming in at 15,175 units thus far in 2024.

Ford F-Series

The Ford F-Series lineup - consisting of the F-150 and Super Duty - is experiencing a small slump as well with 336,761 units sold through the first half of 2024 - a 10 percent decrease versus H1 2023's total of 374,136 units. Regardless, it's still the best-selling pickup in the U.S., ahead of the second-place Silverado and its 277,842 sales over the same time period.

Ford F-150 Lightning

The all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning may not sell at nearly the same rapid pace as its ICE counterpart, but the EV pickup continues to see its sales grow - this time, from 8,757 units in H1 2023 to 15,645 in H1 2024 - an increase of just over 78 percent.

Medium-Duty Trucks

Finally, we have Ford's medium-duty truck lineup, which consists of the F-650 and F-750. Those commercial-focused models recorded 6,852 sales in H1 2024, which is 12 percent fewer than last year's first-half total of 7,802 sales.
