These 3 Ford Trucks Won Their Respective Categories as Best of the Best
A trio of Ford trucks managed to top Cars.com's Top Pickup Truck Picks for 2023.
Best of the Best
The Ford F-Series line of pickups has held onto its spot as America's best-selling vehicle - not just truck - for decades to this point, and The Blue Oval also has some of the most loyal customers in the business. As such, it's not a huge surprise to see Ford trucks topping all sorts of rankings, comparison tests, and studies, and that trend continued with the recent release of Cars.com's Top Pickup Truck Picks for 2023.

2024 Ford Maverick - Budget-Friendly Pickup Truck
First up, we have the Ford Maverick, which took home top honors in the budget-friendly pickup truck category. This win is notable given the fact that the Maverick is no longer quite as cheap as it once was - and the hybrid powertrain is a $1,500 option now rather than standard - but the Maverick is still an enticing bargain in a market that doesn't have many of them to offer.

2024 Ford Maverick
"In a world where it’s all but impossible to get into a decently equipped mid-size pickup truck for less than $30,000, the 2024 Ford Maverick’s starting price of $24,995 (including destination) is pretty darn enticing," Cars.com notes. Though you’ll now have to pay $1,500 extra for the hybrid powertrain on all but the top-line Lariat trim level (where it’s a no-cost option), the Maverick is still a solid deal. And one of the best things about the Maverick for penny pinchers is that it somehow manages to be spunky and charming even in its lower trim levels."

2023 Ford Super Duty F-250/350 - Towing, Heavy-Duty Pickup Truck
Next up, we have the Ford Super Duty F-250 and F-350, which won top honors in the towing and heavy-duty pickup truck category. Fresh off a redesign for 2023 that includes new powertrains, Ford's cash cow remains a strong competitor in this hotly-contested segment, too.

2023 Ford Super Duty
"Ford says more than 90% of heavy-duty pickup trucks are used for towing, a staggering statistic, so what makes its Super Duty our favorite for the category?" the site asks. "All heavy-duty trucks tow pretty well, but Ford included some incredible new technology that not only puts the Super Duty over competitors, it actually makes for super-simple towing for total beginners. With all of its new trailering-specific technology, the new 2023 Ford Super Duty might just be the marriage-saving pickup truck so many people need."

2023 Ford F-150 Raptor - Off-Road Pickup Truck
Finally, we have the fan-favorite Ford F-150 Raptor, which has been arguably the most popular off-road-focused pickup for well over a decade to this point. Even though the Raptor is getting a refresh for 2024 along with the rest of the F-150 lineup, the 2023 model was still more than good enough to take home top honors in the off-road pickup truck category, too.

2023 Ford F-150 Raptor
"Ford’s brought Baja trucks to the masses for over a decade now, and the latest Raptor is the pinnacle of its expertise," Cars.com said. "Most at home once the pavement ends, the Raptor will happily bomb through the desert at speed while keeping five full-size adults happy and comfortable in its spacious, tech-filled cabin. Lest you think the Raptor can only handle high-speed dune running and clumsy full-throttle pedal mashing, know that it’s also a capable rock crawler for its size. So if you’re looking to engage in off-road shenanigans both fast and slow, with a dose of useful towing and hauling, there’s no better choice in our minds than a Ford F-150 Raptor. And, as an added bonus, it’s pretty fun to drive on the street, too."
