Delete Done - Command Start Not Working

Hi everyone, as the title reads I recently had a delete done, and disaster kit installed. Got it back, everything was good but the command start isn't working. No CEL, there was a sensor unplugged when I got it back, but I plugged it back in and still no go.

Anyone have this happen?

go back to where you had it done and get it returned to the way it was. Not a good tune or company if it already is a problem.

What is command start? Do you mean the truck won’t start? Also, what year is your rig?

The sensor that was unplugged may be meant to be unplugged with the tune.

2016. The truck starts with the key in ignition. In Canada we have a command start where you push a button in the house and the truck starts.

After the delete mine just honks (normal) but doesn't start.

We normally just call that remote start. Any car with factory remote will not start if, (a) the battery is low (b) there is a system fault or (c) there is a set code in the PCM. Chances are there is a code set that does not engage the dash CEL. Quite common with a delete.

After market remote start doesn't tie into the PCM the same way as OEM does. IOW it dont care what condition the vehicle is in, it will start it. The OEM has protection mode, which is what I believe the OP situation is.

Also, check to make sure it is actually enabled, it may have become disabled due to the PCM reflash

Remote start is enabled on your vehicle's instrument cluster. To check your settings:
  1. Ensure your vehicle is on, running, parked, and in a well-ventilated safe area.
  2. Locate the directional arrows on your steering wheel.
  3. Go to Settings > Vehicle > Remote Start > System.

Note: Some panels are different and may be listed as Settings > Advance Settings > Vehicle > Remote Start > System.
  4. Set Remote Start to On, which is represented by a check mark.

Aside from checking/clearing codes, check the hood pin. It needs to show hood closed for startup - a belly or tool could have damaged it etc.
