Hi everyone, as the title reads I recently had a delete done, and disaster kit installed. Got it back, everything was good but the command start isn't working. No CEL, there was a sensor unplugged when I got it back, but I plugged it back in and still no go.
We normally just call that remote start. Any car with factory remote will not start if, (a) the battery is low (b) there is a system fault or (c) there is a set code in the PCM. Chances are there is a code set that does not engage the dash CEL. Quite common with a delete.
thats odd. OEM remote start? my 12volt solutions remote start worked fine before and after delete.
After market remote start doesn't tie into the PCM the same way as OEM does. IOW it dont care what condition the vehicle is in, it will start it. The OEM has protection mode, which is what I believe the OP situation is.
Also, check to make sure it is actually enabled, it may have become disabled due to the PCM reflash
Remote start is enabled on your vehicle's instrument cluster. To check your settings:
Ensure your vehicle is on, running, parked, and in a well-ventilated safe area.
Locate the directional arrows on your steering wheel.
Go to Settings >Vehicle >Remote Start > System.
Note: Some panels are different and may be listed as Settings > Advance Settings > Vehicle > Remote Start > System.
Set Remote Start to On, which is represented by a check mark.
