NEED CA SMOG parts
Hey everyone so I have a buddy of mine who I am help rebuild a 1979 ford f250 for him and his son (sons first truck to be) now for the lame part we are in CA so its got a blown 460 in it and he wants to go 351 in it which I am a fan of but to do so I am going to need to find all the OE SMOG equipment, so smog pump, OE intake manifold, OE exhaust manifolds, OE carb, so if anyone has said parts and would be willing to part with them I am more then happy to send beer or money or both!
and a side note he wants to manual swap it so I was thinking T5 trans, but I am open to any suggestions on that one?
Anyway thanks for Y'alls time!

You're going to find the parts are hard to find and expensive for a 335 series.
If I understand CA law you can run a newer engine in a vehicle but it has to meet the smog requirements for the year of the engine not the vehicle. so your best bet may be to stick with the 385 series, parts will be much easier to source since the 460 was used into the 90's. . the 385 series is a far better engine anyway.

Buy a registered legal Ca. "runner" ... and migrate the parts. Part out what is left over. I first read that as if the 460 had a blower. Now I understand.

I found all of my smog parts on Ebay, National Parts Depot, and Amazon. They don't have to be specific to your truck either, if you find you actually need a smog pump, vacuum reservoir, etc, you can get one off a 80's truck and make it work. I used a Comp Cams canister for my smog truck.
The EGR stuff is important to get right and understand (which orifice, vacuum delay valves, WOT valve, make sure the carb has a venturi vacuum port on it). The first thing I would do is find a 79 F250 460 valve cover with the emission sticker on it. I found my 78 F150 400 Federal valve cover with emission sticker on Ebay. Having that will make the smog guy's job much easier so he can find the required calibration in his book and know what values to look for, what equipment etc. It will also make it easier for you to find which vacuum diagram to follow.
