I've searched for a thread on this but haven't come up with much. Let's hear some low buck alternatives for OEM core support bushings. I'm mounting a different body to frame and trying to stay LOW budget. Bushings are shot and I don't really want to spend $60.00 plus shipping on a $1000.00 truck! I've been searching the shop at work (forklift dealership) to come up with something close but can't really come up with much. Shot in the dark here but I know some of my fellow FTE friends are pretty clever. Thanks!
Just about anything will work. You have shims in there, so in order to get the front end straight, you will have to monkey around a little, so as long as you are gonna go through the trouble, either spend the bucks, (51.00 for energy suspension 4.4101 for a complete cab kit is cheap) or suppliment the mount for just about anything close.
T-case bushings are close, and you can cut some down or add small washers until you get the correct heigth.

Well as far as spending the bucks on the polys from energy suspension, I don't need the cab mounts. I bought those from DC last year when I had more fun money (before baby #2)! At that time I didn't plan on messing with the core support and it won't have a box it will get a dump body. I just find it hard to swallow spending that kind of $$$$ on chunks of rubber and a couple washers. I cast this thread out with the small chance someone out there might have an alternative. You know one of those "yeah I used transaxle mounts off a 96 Nissan Sentra for $20.00 at Napa" or something crazy like that! Oh well the project must go on.

Since the following absorbers (bushings) are obsolete, the dealers can no longer return them to Ford...so are STUCK with them.
Usually...obsolete parts can be bought from dealers cheaper than from obsolete parts vendors.
These parts fit 1973/79 F100/350's & 1978/79 Bronco's.

Thanks Number Dummy you are a wealth of knowledge and I'm glad you chimed in. You know I never give a thought to checking at dealerships for the old stuff. I guess I assume those parts have all been depleted. I'll check into that option. Who knows maybe I can find some dusty Model A parts on the back of those shelves! LOL
