66 F100
The family attending our Easter dinner liked the Easter Egg shop truck.

Son and grandson in the 66.

Chad yes that was the thread! Thanks for finding it!
Your tail light shot is amazing! Glad I don't have something like that! The great grand kids would not be allowed to get close to it!

I really appreciate your explanation of the shims location for the king pin refurb! Makes good sense.
So sorry to hear about losing your motivation. I am losing mine a day at a time from dementia, no fun.
I see the different part numbers on the tail light bezel. My guess is there are slight shape differences from left to right.
Yes we plan to drive this shop truck and enjoy it and learn about it.

I think this makes it official?

Here are a few of my other toys. Taking the thread off in the weeds!
Allis-Chalmers 1954 WD45 my baby. Its a pulling tractor. But can still plow ground and do farm work if it had too.

This is our 1958 Allis- Chalmers D17 has power steering. Changing the oil in it today.

This Allis-Chalmers 1950 WD was my uncles. It was given to me about 12 years ago.I did a bunch of work on it. Loaded it today to go to our son. Stays in the family and will have a easy life. Maybe hauling some firewood or taking kids on hay rides?

Those Allis-Chalmers model B tractors are stout! Dad had one on the farm and it was a snorty little unit! Very nice blade for servicing the drive. Some engineering there for sure!
I just ordered a 15 inch American Retro steering wheel for the shop truck. This was based on a recommendation from 53 Deere on his thread. about his 66 blue and white 4x4 short bed. Since the existing one is cracked and needs fixed and painted, I might as well get this look alike smaller steering wheel to go with the power steering? More on that later.
Awesome thread here, and you have some cool toys! Thanks for choosing us for the bumper for "shop truck"!
Wasn't expecting the Summit post. But they have good customer service when there was a problem with the chrome on the rear bumper. John and I installed the new bumper today and it looks very good!
For the steering wheel and turn signal switch and the gear shift improvements. I did order the smaller American Retro steering wheel and also the Shee-mar turn signal switch (SM41F) from Rock Auto. More on that project later.
John has been helping me a lot on the 66. This afternoon we also disassembled the king pins and removed the small ring seal that I had placed in the wrong area. I had this seal below the thrust washer and it was restricting the grease to the thrust bearing. All went well and we should be all set for some ice cream runs. Took the 66 around the block and John thought it drove Ok.
Ok I had never driven one of these trucks in my life. My first impression is that my 6-1 frame could use a few more inches of room. Any options for additional leg room? I think I know the answer, but thought I would ask. Looks like the seat back is all the way back on the stops.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
As for the 6'1" issue you have... sorry, I can offer nothing, as my 5'9" 210lb self fits comfortably in all my trucks, I do recall some guys modifying the seat rails to go further back after removing the behind the seat tank, but IME, my seat when I drive is all the way back, and the top of the seat is maybe 1/2" or less from the rear window, so I can't see much gain if at all... on my 66 F250 I had yrs ago, I put the rear CC seat out of a 94 in it and used 1-1/2" square stock as a riser/adapter and was able to move the seat back a bit in the process, my 6'2" buddy who "borrowed" my truck for about 6 mos said he really liked how it fit him except the headliner was a lil close to his melon and I hadn't gotten the sound matting/heat shield in place yet. Wish I had pics for you, but that was way before the interweb and having a camera/tracking device on you 24/7, IIRC I think it was ~3" long, .120 sq stock and I drilled the lower hole 1/2" from the front, and the upper hole 1/2" from the rear resulting in ~ 2" rear/1-1/2" movement of the seat, if that makes sense.
I've a recollection of days gone by at age 16 ? and riding in my buddys dads green Ford pickup, '65 or '66.
We were headed to the ranch headquarters where we were given a case of dynamite sticks to blow holes for corral posts, circa 1967 ?
It was a cold morning, and I was wiping the inside of the windshield with my hanky. The effort was futile for seeing thru the windshield.
All of a sudden, _ BANG, a noise from up front. What the heck ? _ My buddy stopped the pickup so we could step out and investigate the noise origin.
We were on the gravel ranch road, and there were free-range cattle. Upon stepping out, there was a large Herford bull looking at us with a GREEN FACE. _ oops
Once at the ranch headquarters, we asked the receptionist to phone the Vet to see if he should come out.
The vet said that the bull probably just has a head-ache. _ LoL
Only in a '60 something green ford pickup.

Of the Ford line of all-round great engines, the 351 windsor is one of my Favorites, as I've enjoyed them in boats and vehicles.
Yea I will look at the leg room thing but don't have any hope for gaining any additional room with existing in cab tank and original style bench seat. In our 65 Comet I did make custom rails for the seats. Going into the existing holes this would allow the next owner to bring it back around to move the seats forward. It sure did help me feel more comfortable driving the Comet. And we drove it 7,000 miles last year.
So moving the tank scares me. Because I just have not looked at the options. But as mentioned the gain in leg room may not be much? I know there are many folks that have done the tank thing and seat thing so I will do a little research on those items at some point in the future.
The upper steering column rework/ repair is my next project. Waiting on the SM41F turn signal switch assembly form Rock Auto. The smaller steering wheel is here. The horn ring is loose?? Not sure on that?
Funny story on the cow and truck. Could have turned out much worse! That steer might have ruined a good day of dynamiting too!

Sorry it took a couple hours to read over the thread! It will probably get longer. so glad you are caught up. I tend to be wordy and post some pictures and go off in the weeds.
These forums are one of my therapies. Cheryl is not having a great day. We listen to 60's music that we both grew up with and she can hum along with the tune and gets a word now and then too. Seems to calm her some if she is off the rails. Just put door alarms on two of the house doors today. The alarms are a proxy switch system with a very loud chime and also an alarm. Will take some time to get used to those each time the doors open. As you can see we are in a constant watching or containment mode with Cheryl. Sad process to see your spouse slipping away slowly. Sorry for that but writing in does help me. And if there is anything I can do to help anyone going through a family member with dementia let me know . Not an expert on the subject but have learned a bunch in the last 4 -5 years. One big one was that we needed a caregiver to come into our home for several hours a day!
Thanks guys, Not looking for sympathy here.

That was a very nice thing to take the Little Green truck and show it to her! Awesome! Its about the people.
So I moved the 66 to the non lift bay in the shop and have pulled the old cracked and worn steering wheel. Will get some pictures. But yes I see a broken plastic arm for the turn signal the other arm is gone. Not a surprise after the pictures and parts listed from folks on this thread. I did use the Jegs puller kit. It worked fine. I was a little surprised that the threads in the steering were metric. Will get into this more as, I have plans to remove and replace the shifter collar which is loosely goosey also. So The repo wheel is black. Any recommendations as to leave it black or paint it to match the truck??
On a separate subject. There are no arm rests on the doors. I had not realized that because the door cards have been replaced. And I really don't know everything about these. Of course I check the internet and no turquoise arm rests. For sure that made perfect sense. Maybe just leave them off? I replaced the drivers arm est on our Comet and it was a couple attempts to get the color correct and for paint to stick.
Daughter Kelly seems to like it. All the girls seem to like the Easter Egg color!

Off in the weeds. Made 8 lb of granulated maple sugar in the Hobart:

A friend that just retired at 55, he brought this back to me. He has been storing it for 15 years, He was going to make a wooden handle for it. Work got in the way and I have a guy that can make a oak handle. I call this item a hog splitter. Just at the head of the hog after sawing it almost in half. Is that legal to talk about butchering hogs on this truck forum?? My farm roots showing a little.

Ok back on track here:
New 15 inches American Retro steering wheel:

Maybe I will try to put the old horn ring back on this wheel?? Found the spring under the hold horn ring that keeps it tight. Not sure what the horn was only functioning on one side?

My Cheryl in red, our friend Cheryl visiting with her.

Our Golden "Duke" had a very hard day:
