New High Boy
I picked up a new truck last night 1976 highboy, I don’t need another damn truck but I couldn’t let this one pass. Two years ago I looked for one and could not find one and purchased a 79 and built that one. A week after I finished it my boss tells me that his sister in-law has one she wants to sell. It was purchased in Arizona and brought back east around fifteen years ago. Her husband started working on it and fell ill. I don’t know much about it only saw it a few minutes last night looks like 360 with a c6 np203 all time 4x4 power steering and disc brakes up front.

If you can find the ones from fire rescue dept. those are definitely the ones not to pass up. Well taken care of, not abused and usually low miles. Great grab. Had one come up near mea but like usual day late dollar short. Nice grab

Spent Saturday working on truck and got it running. Pulled all the plugs and lubed up the cylinders and turned it over a few rotations by hand. Did a compression test, one cylinder was low 40psi. Installed some new plugs and it fired right up. Running good will check that cylinder again hopefully it was just a valve not sealing.

Thanks for the kind words, cleaned up the frame today and gave it a fresh coat of paint. As far as I can tell it is original paint, driver front fender has been touched up some time in the past. I also removed fuel tank and cleaned it out hopefully it will be ok. I haven’t seen any aftermarket options for tanks for inside cab.

No big plans just get it running and driving. I plan on leaving it stock for now, I really like the paint and wheels retro is cool. Need to plug some holes in the roof from light bar. Probably will replace all the weather stripping and put glass back in. It is all time 4x4 I have never driven on on the road. If it is too bad I will convert it to part time if it’s not too involved.
