Finally got to head offroad with the Excursion. The terrain was alot more rocky than I am used to , so it was a good first test to make sure the suspension worked and the tires had clearance. I found I have to do a bit more trimming on the front fenders and I somehow wired up my front Elocker wrong, as it wasn't working, but overall It was a good day.
Here are a few pics that were taken with my camera.
Although my first outing with the excursion was fun, it also was very expensive. I left the trail with a slightly leaking tranny that turned into a gushing tranny as I got home. It turns out it overheated and started pissing out fluid from the front seal. Anyways, got the tranny rebuilt and put in a new torque converter. I also noticed my steering wheel was upside down when I was on the road...It drove fine, but i knew I bent something...anyways it turns out it was this
a twisted sector shaft. Put in a brand new steering box and all the lines and an alignment.
I also did some more front fender trimming and fixed my front locker...it was a wiring error on my part...and now the locker works great
