Alright...I have progress pics

Got the sliders sandblasted

Before I put them on, I wanted to get the frame coated...so i bought 2 quarts of POR-15 and did the frame rails, floor and rockers

Back from paint

Installed

Here's how they look with the door closed

And open

Pics of the mounting points on the frame

Still a few more little things to look after and then i'll be ready for wheeling this weekend

Finally got to head offroad with the Excursion. The terrain was alot more rocky than I am used to , so it was a good first test to make sure the suspension worked and the tires had clearance. I found I have to do a bit more trimming on the front fenders and I somehow wired up my front Elocker wrong, as it wasn't working, but overall It was a good day.

Here are a few pics that were taken with my camera.

Here is a slideshow of all the pics I took

Update

Although my first outing with the excursion was fun, it also was very expensive. I left the trail with a slightly leaking tranny that turned into a gushing tranny as I got home. It turns out it overheated and started pissing out fluid from the front seal. Anyways, got the tranny rebuilt and put in a new torque converter. I also noticed my steering wheel was upside down when I was on the road...It drove fine, but i knew I bent something...anyways it turns out it was this

a twisted sector shaft. Put in a brand new steering box and all the lines and an alignment.

I also did some more front fender trimming and fixed my front locker...it was a wiring error on my part...and now the locker works great
