Highboy help
Well I got me a 1975 Ford Highboy (Know it is one cause it has the divorced transfer case) for 400 bucks today and its going to get the powerstroke out of my 95 F250 put in it, anyways, I want to know what size tires can you run under them with stock springs? Also is there nay place that sells a add a leaf for both the front and back, so I could give the springs a little more umph? I want to run a decent sized tire but nothing bigger then a 35, maybe a 37, thats a doubtful maybe. I just want to be able to go some places off road, but nothing extreme. I appreciate the help.

35's may be a little tight after you add the extra weight of that Power Stroke motor to the front end. Remember that it may bring the front end down a bit. Just something to think about.

What I was trying to get at is that it may still be tight. I don't know for sure. If I remember correctly a Power Stroke engine weighs about 1100 lbs dressed. The motor you pulled (if it was an FE block) should weigh 610 lbs. I don't think that an add a leaf is going to make up the difference you are wanting.

You can get 37's on a stock highboy with decent springs and the right offset in the rims. Here's mine on 37" Irok Radials with stock suspension.

well I know guys drop Cummins engines in these things and use the front axle and a Cummins weights 1010LBS dry weight where a Powerstroke weighs 920 dry. But that's including all the accessories. I think I can do it. Plus big mud tires are not my priority.

It might work, I am a little ignorant when it comes to the Power Stroke motor in High Boys. You should only need to make up around 500 lbs. Heck a big winch and a heavy winch bumper could weigh that much. Post up some pictures when you get it going.
