Long time, no post! I have a question for the gurus here. My 94 FS Bronco has been taken off the road but it has a great running 302 and OD tranny. How complicated would it be to swap the running gear into my 66. Would it be easier to swap the engine to carb and add a C4/C6? I don't want to get into a big buck, time sucking ordeal with this swap.
It is a 4x4. Would that cause an issue? It would be cool to retrofit the EFI and OD but not if it's going to be a wiring nightmare. Is the wiring fairly straightforward? Or is it one of those things with a lot of head-scratching, beer-swilling, and vocabulary enhancing?
Actually it is pretty easy if you can read a schematic. Are you going to four wheel drive the truck? If not the T case is Mated to the trans. I have a 88 harness in my 64 running the EFI 472.
No plans for 4 wheelin' this Slick. Is this still a feasible swap or do I need a different tranny. Sorry if that's a dumb question but I am far more familiar with engines and tranny options from that other brand vehicle.

You will need to located a two wheel drive trans then (if you were really ambitious you could tear the tranny down and swap out the output shaft and tail shaft housing but it would be quicker to swap out the complete trans), but I would go for the swap. You will also need to find the engine perches for a 302 out of a 68-79 F-100/150 and then the engine would bolt right into your 66.
I completed a swap close to this a couple years ago, I put a 4.6 MOD motor and 4R70W auto over drive trans and love it! Since you have the Bronco you will have all the wiring, electric fuel pump and other misc items you might need for the swap.
As someone pointed out, the wiring isn't too difficult. I have done it, and there is plenty of documentation on the interweb as to how it all works. It would be a little hokey, but you can always leave the transfer case on the end of the transmission, and not hook up the front driveshaft.
