I might add it could read 40 psi at idle and you think all is fine. But it can drop off when you stoump it while driving. Mine did. It felt like it was running out of gas, missing and coughing. New fuel pump cured it.
my truck which is a 88 ford bronco 2 with the 2.9 does not want to run, but the second i hit the gas it wants to die then it does die, i have replaced both fuel pumps and the fuel filter and it still runs like crap any input would be helpful thank please email any of your input i just want my truck to run right thanks.
Check to see what the pressure is at the fuel rail, most auto stores have a gauge you can rent/borrow. Also you may have a fuel pressure regulator issue.
the truck ran fine for a day after i changed the high pressure fuel pump then it started to pop and back fire and lose power and i can gas it the rpm goes up but my speed goes down what could that have been.
