Should I weld the frame?

I finally have my 53 F-100 stripped down to a rolling frame. Has anybody welded the frame's cross bracing where it meets the side beams to stiffen up the chassis and take some of the flex out of it? I know Henry thought the rivets were one of his better ideas, but all modern vehicles are now welded. Any thoughts? Also, any ideas on how to sand the inside areas of the side beams? Thanks!

The frame has the rivets to accommodate the flex. I think if you welded them you would be in for a really stiff, harsh ride. Modern frames are designed differently.

I would say if you are going the independent suspension route then weld em up so the suspension works. But if staying with the beam then leave as is so they can flex.
