We just put a 48 dodge truck on a S10 frame and have had great luck with it. We had to use spacers on the front and a wider rearend to get the width we needed, but we are very happy with how it turned out.
I met a guy the other day with a absolutely beautiful 50 F-1 & he is the one who got me started on the S-10 frame Idea
He had clipped his front with the S-10 & it worked out pretty good, & I really liked how it tucked the wheels in, as I am going to roll this thing really low & that would be great for turning clearance
I'll have to figure out what rear to run once I get it on the S-10 frame, but thats no biggie
Are there any major interferences that I should look out for when swapping the frames ???
And is a single cab LWB the closest to correct length frame to use ???
My daily driver is a 49 Chebby on an S10 and I'm happy. Here's some info on the WB for different S10's:
Reg. Cab Long Bed = 117.9"
Reg. Cab Short Bed = 108.3"
Ext. Cab Short Bed = 122.9"
It is my understanding the frame is fairly easy to shorten because it is a "slip joint" and can be cut apart moved to the new location and rewelded. I haven't done it because the 117.9" WB was correct for the Chebby.

This was my understanding as how the s-10 worked as well, just grind the welds and slide to the length you need. I think that there is a lot of info out there if you google. I think you would have the most options with the longer wheel bases but I've never done this swap as I used a C10 chassie
Set aside a couple of hours and read it - your eyes will bleed, and your head will explode. It's the sum-total of all the internet pretty much has to say about it.
Seriously - read it.

I have a buddy that has a Chevy S-10 frame & I have heard of people swapping the frames or clipping the F-1 frame with the S-10 front
So my questions are: would it be better to swap the frames or clip the stock frame ???
I have a full fab shop at my disposal & Im going to Z the frame either way, so Im not worried about some welding
I think there is a company here in MN that make a bolt on / weld on kit to make this swap simple. I know I've seen their site before but for the life of me I can't think of the company name. I'm sure if you google it it will come up. Good luck.
