89 fullsize body lift

I have a 89 fullsize. The guy i bought it from had a brand new 3" body lift for it still in the box. It doesent have any bumper relocation brackets, a steering extention, an extention for the automatic trans shifter, or for the t-case. I have been doing a lot of looking at diffent brands and none of them have any of that stuff. The bumper brackets are no big deal, i can make those. Does any one have any idea if I need any of the other stuff, or if i should just fab it up?

Thanks,
Dave

89 fullsize, bronco, 351W, 4" rough country suspension lift, 35x12.5 BFG allterrains.
01 ranger, 4.0, jet chip, K&N FIPK, Magnaflow, catback.

The brackets should be easy enough to fab up. The steering shaft will be a specialized item. 3" is a crap shoot. You are at the end of the limit on what the Bronco will take and then may or may not need all the other extensions. That is why the other manufacturers do not list any other hardware. So, it's going to be a challenge for you. Do it, and see what else you need to come with. Or, pass on it.

Well, it's a crap shoot. A 3" body lift may or may not cause extension issues for all you've mentioned. I've known folks with them who've had no problems, I've also known folks who had the shaft pull out of the rag joint. It wasn't hard to fab up a replacement. All had to mod the fan shroud. I think the gas filler needed a new hose, and the t-case shifter needed to be extended. The transmission may or may not. The E4OD is a cable, the C6 is a shaft. Also kick down linkage had to be modded.

I don't think anybody had any brakeline issues. But, it's something you want to check.

cool thanks, hopefully I get a chance to take a look at it next weekend. I have to go on a road trip for work. I forgot to mention that it has a C-6, but thanks for all the info. I keep every one informed on what i need to mod and fab, and what works as is.

Is this the same Bronco in your "sig"?

If so, why do you need to lift it more, especially since it is lifted already?
If tire rub is an issue, trim the fenders or get smaller tires. 35s are pushing the limits of the TTB. (unless you have a solid front axle)

The body lift won't get you better performance, and to ME, BLs are just not worth it.

Sell it and put the money into your gas tank!

Just my two pennies!
It's your truck, money and time.

Darren,
Yes it is the same one, and that is a very good point. Im think about putting th BL on because i think it would look bette, and im kinda worried about the clearance under flex, and im not sure how if triming the fenders will give give me enough room. The reson I have 35s on it is I got the tires and wheels for free with it. I do like your idea better though because, honsetly im not a real fan of body lifts.

I have a 3" body lift on my bronco, i am not sure if it has an extension on the steering or not, i will take a look at what is done to it ( i bought it with the body lift on it) but i believe it does not have an extension, from what i remember. its a 78. I would also say go with the body lift, it does not look bad, and it resolves any clearance issues you may have.

Hi , I am Only thinking of an easier way to do this, and On Jeeps, we modify the engine and transmission mounts, lifting everithing the 3 inches. you could look into that.

You may want to consider cutout flares from bushwacker. Check my gallery. They are eazy to install and I clear 38's with a 6" lift. Those bolts that hold the body are sometimes a bear to get off.
