Does this device really work. I got a XLT and regret never getting the lie o meter and all that jazz. A dude on here told me about this. Just wonder if more of you guys use it and if it really does work. Does the gas mileage tell realtime or average or both? Thanks
They do work but only show average mpg. On my 04 the meter has always read between .2 and .5 higher than actual mileage. Example my meter has been between 18.0and 18.1 for about 2000 miles (not reset in that time) and hand calculated for last 3 tanks was 17.7, 17.7 and 17.8. Not bad at all.

Works as well as you want it to. If I want the Tank MPG's to be within .2 I can get it there. Only thing is high power tunes, screw up the MPG's, inst. and avg.
also, stock, full throttle, made the inst. MPG do some goofy things.
Everything works fine, that applies to the vehicle.
it looks like it is about $159, which is not a bad price if it actually works good.
I'm keeping an eye out for the next group buy... Keep doing daily Google searches or pricegrabber.com searches for the best price on the ScanGauge II. They get as low as $130.00, but you have to be on the lookout... I am!
I read about saving a little money on a "Group Buy" of a ScanGauge II code reader. You can read about it in the link below (about halfway down on your left). Don't know if it is a good deal or not, but thought some of you folks may be interested.

I joined the Forum, not sure if you have to in order to get in on the deal or not. The TOTAL cost is $150 - delivered to your door.
Good grab, Mark. Where did you get the $150.00 total? I did buy-in on this one, but the total charge to me was $144.00... BTW, I didn't join the forum. Just clicked and it went straight to PayPal.
EDIT: I just received confirmation that I got in on the buy just in time. If anyone else wants one, act VERY fast...
I have one (pis in gallery) it works most of the time but I have to reset it once in a while.
I never fool with checking mpg, with my extra tank and such, but I like the ability to read codes when I'm on the road for weeks at a time and I keep a code sheet too.
