this is the best stuff ive found in the last 20 years KanoLabs.com
Plus 1 on Kroil. It has always been the best penetrant, because it is actually a penetrating oil. Most of the other stuff, such as WD-40 is a surficant. If a penetrating oil is going to work, this stuff will. In some cases, penetrating oil will not work at all.
I have not used this product, but Loctite makes good stuff, and I will give it a tryjd
I have always used one of three products:
Mopar branded penetrating oil, used it while I was working at a Dodge dealership. I think it's the same stuff as this, which I use now- http://www.sunrisenv.com/allfreeii.html . It works decently, but not as good as some others. Better than PB.
PB Blaster, of course
My favorite though, is Free-All- Welcome to FreeAlloil.com - Join the Rust-Breaking Revolution! This stuff works better than anything I've ever used.
I am going to pick up a few cans of that kanolabs penetrating oil, as soon as I can find it here.
I may have to order it online.
And I agree that wd40 and them are not penetrating oils, they don't seem to help at all.
If its where I can give it a little heat, the torches sure seem to help bust nuts and bolts loose with just a little heat.
Jared, regarding the free all.
will it work for things like a trailer hitch tube stuck in the reciever??
their website is pretty much useless as to what it does or how it works.
Have you pulled the pin, sprayed some oil in there, then given it a few hits with a big hammer.
Possible drive it in a little further, and that could loosen it up, allowing it to be pulled out.
I have not ever had trouble getting the whole hitch out, but sure have had to use some 6 lb sledge pursuasion to get the pin itself out.
Ummm and lets not even talk about using a locking hitch pin, and then having no idea where the key is 2 years later when you want to take it off.
I sure surprised a buddy of mine getting a stuck hitch out of my receiver once. I had beat on it with hammers and sledges, sprayed it with WD-40 and other lubes, all to no avail. Then, one day, my buddy got his van a little stuck, so while he was hooking up the strap to his van, I ducked under my truck and pulled the pin. His eyes were real big when the hitch popped right out as soon as I got tension on the strap and gave it some gas. He thought we had broken something.
I think Loctite makes some good stuff, too, so I would probably give their freeze spray a try next time I have a problem. I suppose you would have to be careful spraying it on too large of a hot area--you could cause the metal to stress crack that way (like hot exhaust manifolds) from rapid temp changes.

the hitch on my 88 was not removed for 13 years.
when i needed to move an office trailer, i went to put the 2 5/16 ball hitch in and found the 2 inch stuck fast.
i took the pin out, and tried pulling it out by anchoring the truck to one of my loaded tandem dumps parked in the yard.
i pulled a 60,000 lb truck 3 feet before i called it quits.
it took 4 cycles of heating with the rosebud torch and spraying with pb blaster, then letting it cool down before it broke free.
my current problem is the meyers snow plow hoop frame is seized in the clevis frame, because it was never removed by the previous owner.
i can't heat this setup up because the lower section of the bumper is plastic, and i don't want to melt anything.
I've never heard of this before, but it seems like an interesting product idea. Freezing will cause the metal to contract, which might aid in breaking things loose and getting the oil in there. I might have to see if I can find some.
Looks similar to the CRC freeze off. This is the best stuff ever. We've used KROIL and others like it for years, this stuff is better because it's faster. It works in just a few seconds most of the time with the longest time we've ever had to let it sit was about 10 minutes (that same bolt would have had to soak overnight with the KROIL).
