I have a 1994 ford ranger standard cab and I cant seem to find a good place to mount my CB radio. I tried puting it under the dash but it gets in the way of the shifter. So what have you guys done? I really dont want to put it on top of the dash.
depends on which CB. I have an LTD25 by cobra its in the middle of the trans hump (94 SC) I just had to move it more into the lowere heater duct. Only problem I have occasionally is when I open the ahtray to put the phone charger in and then when I close I have to push the front of the CB down to clear the tray. The dash is all plastic make sure you drill into the lower steel support to hold the radio up.
Heres a pic from the gallery of billybob69 with his CB monted in his SD.
This is how I'm going to mount my CB when I get around to it. The SD and Ranger use the same size radios. I think it is a great setup, but you need another radio and a Double Din install kit to make it work.
i have a 98 ford ranger and at first i mounted it right in the middle on the back but the only thing about that is u have to turn around to check it and everything im always messing with mine but i just moved it last night i took the drive side visor clip that hold its up lil plastic piece and i use the screw and mounted it to the top of the cab u aint got to drill no holes are anything and put a mic clip on the side and your done and u wont see no wires give me a sec and ill go get a pic of it and post it on here for u can see i might try and make it fit like that one pic right under the cd player that was cool never thought of putting it there
here is where i put mine. It took a hell of alot of modifications and a good dremill. i wouldnt suggest it, because there isnt as much room in the dash as a full size.
