I have an 05 super cab 4x4 and I am looking for a good place to mount a CB radio. About the only place I have thought of is removing the pullout cup holders that pull out from the dash and stick it in there. And I have a six dish CD changer in the dash and my radio has an AUX feature is that for plugging a CB in to it so you can hear the talk over the speakers? Any ideas?

Really? I have an 04...I assume its the same radio...I wonder if mine has the same AUX feature? Where is it located?
As far as the CB...not sure. I have one of those Cobra "all-in-ones" with all the controls in the Handmike....so the only thing visible is the handmike coming from under my dash. For the standard CB...I suppose the cleanest install would be to fabricate a custom bracket/enclosure somewhere on the hump...but the only problem with that is reaching down there for the controls.
Hi, I had a 2000 f-250 extended cab and mounted the cb between the 2 front seats, Vertically in a homemade bracket.. The bracket just mounted to the frame. I liked the setup- probably put it in the '05.
Mines on the hump to right against the seat. 40/20/40 seat setup.
I made a piece so i can mount it in the console between my two front seats. drilled a little hole out the bottom for the speaker and the handheld. The speaker is under the dash andd the hand held is just on the floor by the driver seat.. Box is out of site i like it alot.. Its just the darn antenna i dont know where to put it.. I dont really wanna see it but i dont think i am going to have a choice,... I would love to put it under the truck like length wise but we all know that wont work but i dont know...any ideas would be great,...
If you don't like the looks of a CB antenna...you could do a custom Cowl mount on the left side of your truck and use a metal whip. It will look just like the radio antenna on the other side. I was going to go that route, but the stakehole mount has grown on me.
No it won't work well if you run the antenna under your truck. Your range will really suck. If your only concerned about talking to trucks right next to you it would work.
I took a 1 inch wide piece of aluminum and attached the cb bracket to it and used the visor clip srcews to hold it up. backs of visor clips needed a little mod but nothing much. cb's up and out of the way of feet plus its easy to read and access ***** without fumbling around. I just wrap the mic wire around behind the mirror when not in use so its not hangin down. Mag mount K-40 on the roof works like a charm
if you go with a Mag mount, put a piece if plastic cling wrap under it. it will protect the paint under it and not allow a ring to form in the paint. good luck Phil
