New 66 Grill

New 66 Grill
I attended a local car show in Raleigh NC yesterday and stopped by the Carolina Classics space. Rick had the Dennis Carpenter repop 66 alum. grill there, that you should be able to get here through Motorhaven and support this site. (hope I covered all of the bases)
Rick was busy and I didn't have time to talk to him much about it. Looks good, and I know a lot of 66 owners will want one now that they are available. I still think I want to use a chrome one on my project, if I ever get back on it. Tis great to know that they are available again.

Have seen the 66 grill thru couple Ford parts suppliers for past couple years, doubt if I will ever see the 65. I was going to chrome the anodized alum grill on the 65 but was advised against it by the plater, who felt the chromed would show pitting from road debris; rocks, etc, than the alum anodized grill. May not be the case with the steel alloy grill, metal not as soft, but suggest checking it out before having it done. Decided to recondition the alum anodized grill myself and although labor intensive please with results.

John I think I saw $450.00 under it. You may want to check his online catalog, http://www.carolina-classics.com/ to be sure.

Seems to me the 65 would be easier to reproduce than the 66 which has lots more detail and thinner sections than the 65. I wonder why they have not done the 65, there are certainly alot of them being restored, and most could use a new grill. I would definitely like to have a new aluminum 65 if they are ever made. My other option is to chome a steel grill, but I would guess that it will be just as expensive as a repop.
