Need advice on Shim Cab of 2012 F350 longbed 3/4”
The driver side cab backside bodylines are 3/4” lower the driver side bed. If you look at the back of the truck, it looks like the tailgate of the bed (Driver side) is higher that the other side (passenger side) and the Driver side proceeds down towards the cab yet the cab sits lower than the bed the passenger side seems fine however. The bed mounts aren’t rotted through, leaf springs seem fine.
I know about the whole gas tank, gear box, etc on the driver side but legit it just did this it seems like one day. Idk what happened
iv been chasing this issue for the better part of the year.
so I figure we’ll time to shim the cab, with it being 3/4” ish difference I don’t want a bunch of shims sitting on top of each other. (sounds like an bad time waiting to happen)
So after a little investigating, it seemed to be I needed new Cab mounts.
so I got some S&B mounts, got them installed, nothing changed,
installed Carli 2.5 leveling springs/Carli track bar and some new Bilsteins 5100s 0-4” front, and 0-1”rear, still nothing
everything seems in be working as intended, everything was aligned correctly (according to 2 different mechanics) I know about the super duty lean and all but 3/4 of an inch on just the cab portion to shim seems excessive and idk what the hell is going on with the tailgate
so any advice would be awesome thanks!
Where the front roadside cab mount has zero washers, the firewall cab mount has one washer, the mid cab cab mount has two washers, and the rearmost cab mount has 3 washers?
Obviously, the number of washers used in each position depends on the thickness of the washers, as well as the additional height required to achieve alignment with the bedside body lines.
