Hello all and welcome to 2026!
Just checked for membership requests and found none.
I know it is early for a new thread as 2026 doesn't start until tonight at midnight, but I will not be staying up to ring in the new year, so I decided to make the thread early.
Took the truck to the Electric Labs shop Monday. They say it will be about a week before they will be done checking it. I am sure there are quite a few vehicles in front of mine. Which is a good thing as it is supposed to rain the rest of the week and I don't want to ride the scooter in the rain to go pick it up when it is done.
Rain. It is pouring outside. Good way to start the new year. I have no plans, so it doesn't matter to me. Besides, we can use the rain to clear the smog and make everything green again.
We went to an early dinner party with about 20 friends & neighbors. Festivities started at 16:00, and that coincides with midnight Greenwich time, so we called it as New Years GMT (or UTC if you prefer).
The food was over the top. Oysters, little blue ones were raw (and delicious), the big ones were Rockefeller style (and also delicious). A bunch of other appetizers, leg of lamb, pork roast, etc. etc. By about 20:30 we were all done and went home.
Happy new year y’all , can’t believe it’s 2026 , time flys by when ur having fun , not much to report other than it’s raining and my seat in my truck hasn’t been fixed , I’m looking for other padding or aftermarket seat cushion, took the family up the blm road all the deer were out including Bucks , some nice ones for next year I reckon.
This year is two days old already. Nothing to report here. Sunny and clear here, but rain is forecast overnight. Still waiting to hear from the repair shop regarding my truck.
Too funny.
Got a call from the repair shop. going to need to find a engine wiring harness for it. They can't find one with any of their suppliers. They will check eBay. I guess I will put a post in the marketplace forum. Looks like a bust as for getting it fixed.

Dayum!
Jim, I know that feeling. Last month I took the 6.0 in for an alignment which led to a full front end rebuild.
It was still better than buying a “New” F-250. My mechanic said that keeping the 6.0 F250 and Bronco going are better options than replacing. Repair sux but replacement is worse for what we drive.
Replacement is not an option. I cannot sell this truck now until I pay off the bill consolidation loan, which is five years from now. How is this truck going to pass smog in March? I would have to pray it doesn't act up during the smog test. I still need to replace one of the catalytic converters too. I was going to look into that after this issue was taken care of. They suggested taking it to another repair shop, and they are not going to charge me for the diagnosis. That is cool but doesn't fix the issue. When I did a search of auto electric places in Fresno, I got a list of four or five places. So, I will check out the others and see if I can get it fixed. Maybe they won't require a wiring harness. This place says mine is so hacked up with different repairs and aftermarket stuff they feel it is best to just replace the whole harness. Except they can't find one. I was told they will continue to look for one and will notify me if they find one. Maybe I'll get lucky, or maybe one of the other repair shops will be able to fix it without replacing the whole harness. I have enough money left to buy a cheap vehicle, but what problems would that one have? I would need to get one that would pass smog. But what do I do with the one I have? Can't let it sit and rot for five years. Besides, I have put way too much money into it now.

I hear that. After accidentally letting the smoke out of the Bronco, the shop that fixed it removed about 2-3 grocery bags worth of excess/poorly added/abandoned wiring from it. I was back to eating instant ramen for a couple of months afterward.
