Happy Saturday Nor-Cal. No news to report today. Truck ran fine when going to the doctor appointment on Thursday. Will take it to church tomorrow and see how well it does.
I haven't seen a post from 5150 in quite a few days. Beginning to wonder.
According to the repair shop the wiring harness in my truck is all hacked up with numerous repairs and aftermarket parts. I can only assume the several "mechanics" who tried to get the shift cable replaced did some cutting/splicing. I had a stereo installed so I can have music in the truck and maybe they also did some splicing. So, they said they cannot diagnose the problem until the wiring harness has been replaced. They recommend I take it to a different shop. Since getting the truck back it has not acted up yet, so I am waiting to see if it does and if so, I'll look for a different shop that does electrical work.
37 degrees as I type this. Brrrrr.
Love my truck. Took it to church yesterday. Ran like it was on 7 cylinders. After church I went to a Salvation Army thrift store looking for a used air fryer, again 7 cylinders. Didn't find any air fryers, so I went to Raising Cane's chicken wings for lunch. Ran fine. On the way home ran fine. I am so glad this truck knows how to fix itself. Just wish the repairs would last longer than a day.

There oughta be a code for that because it sounds like a bad plug or a bad coil. It was likely due to the cold (that's pure speculation). If you can determine which cylinder was misfiring you are 50% the way to fixing it.
Good morning ford truck enthusiasts , hope everyone is settling into 2026 ,
Hank howz ya feeling?
any word from Rob?
well I better get ready to go to work , it’s 33 deg outside so that means it’s a thermal day,
or multiple layers , good thing I’m mostly indoors today.
We seem to be having an inversion. The last few mornings we have had low 60s when we get up. Went down to the valley today; it was 65 here, and 50 when I got down there. Sometimes there's an advantage to being up on the hill.
Hopin' Hanklin and 5150 are OK. They've both been off the list for a while.
Hey folks - I am finally ready to make the plunge on getting a new motor for my F100 - but the two shops I talked to locally in the Tri-Valley have promised to get back to me and never did Any recommendation for shops in the Pleasanton/Dublin/Livermore area that can build and drop a motor? Not looking for anything crazy - but don't have the space (or the time really, time is everything nowadays) to do anything myself

had a great mechanic out in the out skirts of Stockton but sadly he passed a few years ago , the only other place is left coast diesel, not sure they do gassers , the one in pleasenton was better than left coast in Livermore fyi.
edit concord not pleasenton

TGIF Nor-Cal. No news to report.
Going to have the truck scanned tomorrow and find out which cat needs to be replaced. Hopefully it will not give me a heart attack when I hear the price.
