I just had my oil changed at the dealership less than 1,500 miles ago. I have a little over 14,000 miles on my 2024. Today I got a change engine oil soon message. I’m almost positive I checked to make sure the dealer reset to 100%. I was at 30% when they changed the oil and now I’m at 3%. Should I just reset to 100% and just keep track of miles before the next change? Thanks

Or how 'bout you go back to the dealer and find out for sure what happened since she's new in her life, she cost a lot of money and make sure the tech didn't screw up? If it was mine, I would... because they shouldn't be screwing up on a brand new expensive truck like that.

I will do that tomorrow. I checked the oil after the oil change and it was clean. I also checked the oil today and it’s still clean. It doesn’t look like oil that has 6000 miles on it.

And why not.... brand new truck..just sure it doesn't happen again right? Let us know what happens...

I went to the dealership this morning. The service manager assured me the oil was changed but he must of forgot to reset back to 100%. I guess I didn’t expect them to say anything different. Like I said before, I did check the oil and it was clean although it is showing only 1/3 on the dip stick. What is recommended on the dipstick as far as level?

The full mark means full. Anything less isn't full, though it is still in the safe area. That is, unless your dipstick isn't correct. The only way to know that for sure is to change the oil yourself, put in the correct amount, drive or idle a while, let the engine sit and cool, then check the oil to see where on the stick the level is.
My 4.9 always showed 1/2 quart low with 6 quarts in it. I always meant to take a tube cutter to the dipstick tube, but never did in 32 years of ownership.

I believe the new trucks take more right? 15 quarts I think... they may have shorted you. I'll wait for somebody with a new one to comment.
This is from Ford... 2024 F250 6.7 Powerstroke oil and filter capacity... 15 quarts. I'm thinking they put in 13 like the older trucks take like mine.
Its a 2024 and has that new cleaner running diesel with the Magic Pan.
Yes, it is sarcasm
Keep in mind that our older engines hold at LEAST 3 quarts of oil in the pan that doesn't get drained out, so the oil immediately gets stained black. Maybe the newer engines have pans that hold less oil back, and holds one quart instead of 3, hence the 15 quart change from 13 quarts. Oil will stay cleaner longer if thats the case. I can run my Kubota a few hours after an oil change with the oil still remaining clear since it drains practically all the old oil out.
