camber caster sleeve help
01 F350 4x4 SRW. Well the tool apparently won't work on F350, only useable on F150 and some F250. Specialty tech support said that. Their published info doesn't match up to that little piece of information. So I resumed trying to loosen using air chisel and now have a busted tab on one portion.
What works? I am about to get the cutting torch and warm the outer casting the sleeve fits into. I have soaked and pounded, air chiseled for a week have nothing to show for it. Also wondered if I can use ball joint press on it while still in the knuckle. Usualy, you get the upper apart and then the lower, and once removed from knuckle , you use ball joint press.
Truck is pretty clean. Was a Nevada truck and only has a little surface rust on exposed steel.
same problem on my 2019 f-450
even broke a piece of the rim trying to use a tool.
at this point I think ford started to press these in for death wobble mitigation.
I even loosened my top ball joint nuts and drove around for a few hundred holes to see if they would move…nothing.
i can tell you if you can’t get them out and want a caster change, you can do that with a pinion arm drop kit. I installed a 4” pinion arm drop kit and with a 3.5” top coil spacer I’m at 3 degrees caster. If I was going to redue I would get a 4” or 5” drop kit to try to get closer to 5 degrees.
the drop kit install was a heck of a lot easier than trying to remove the alignment bushings.
