Brake lights
I have gone thru 3 of the pressure switch on the master cylinder. Does anyone have a better alternative than the oe style?

Are you using something other than DOT3? Have you try a different supplier? I've use the NAPA SL134 and DOT3 without issue.

NAPA SL134
STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCT SLS27
ALLSTAR 76251

.... or, you could run it into a relay so that then the switch would only have to carry just enough current to trip the relay and the relay would switch the rest of the load.

Are you by chance using silicone brake fluid?It loves eating up those pressure switches because most of them are not compatible.

Mine did the same thing. A lot of them do that. I went and got this switch from Summit. Item #rfw-sw68. Don't know why I can't make a link work.

I got a motorcycle style brake switch to replace the unreliable pressure switch, problem solved.

I used the same one as Effietrucker... went thru 3 pressure switches before I gave up...

Got a switch from auto zone about 4 years ago still working with silicon brake fluid.
