Hi Guy's, my ole truck got new shoe's this week. Just sharing a pic, The wheels were in pretty nasty shape with the clear peeling off so I used Jasco paint stripper, scuffed them with scotch bright, then I used a sanding cartridge roll to clean out the bullet holes. Finally sprayed them with Eagle One wheel cleaner for cast aluminum It etched them to a even non shiny finish, I like it. Installed Cooper tire's 33x12.50x15. I do have a A/C question, I have replaced a lot on the truck but its still mostly stock appearance, even the factory paint (what's left of it) 5.8, E4OD trans, 3:55 Posi. The A/C works very well but sometime the clutch fails to engage, I tap it with a small hammer I keep under the seat and it engages, the question is can I replace the clutch without the Freon escaping? I really don't wanta drain the system just for that. thanks for the comments!
Marty
I call it Ole' Larry (XLT Lariat) get it!
Yes, you need to remove the clutch plate and the pulley and the magnet for the clutch is behind that. It can all be done without draining the system, but be very careful when pulling the clutch plate off as the compressor shaft seal is very fragile.
