Like to know what others feel. As I'm a bit unhappy with amount of orange peel throuout this truck. I feel this is unexceptable tolerance , what do others truck look like.
Since the dimples on a golf ball help it go further....you should be getting great fuel mileage on the highway! Lucky you!
Me, I'd be pretty unhappy with that paint job. I don't know if they will do anything about it, and if they would, I'm not sure I would follow through with a repaint anyways. I've heard the factory paint is the best, but I don't know if that is really true. I bet a good painter could give a better job and it would probably be thicker...a plus in my book.
That does look bad. Does it look like perhaps the truck was touched up? Vehicles do sometimes get damaged in transit or have paint defects at the plant that get touched up. You may have been unfortunate enough to have one. I've had a couple over the years and could always tell they had been touched up. The giveaway was always an inconsistent texture.

I agree repaint could turn out worse than whats there ,, just sad this is considerd passing by the ford quality controlle .. I expect better for the amount these cost .. that's how I feel ..

its all over the truck . some worse than other areas ..
Funny thing is that I did the same thing. Then I took a picture, and my picture looks somewhat similar to his. You can see the texture in the wheel refletions. My Red 2009 F150, and Red 2004 Thunderbird all have some texture (perhaps orange peel) as well. In the picture it is more obvious; in person, I think all of my cars look great. I am loving my F450 King Ranch for sure!

You can see it even more in this shot - look at my garage lights.
F450 Paint - texture<br/>
Maybe my standards aren't super high, but I think my truck is beautiful!

I agree. Frankly, that looks unacceptable for any vehicle these days. I'd be unhappy if I had that on a Yugo. These things are painted by a robot, they should be as smooth as all my other vehicles, no matter the price point. It's one of those things I could live with, but I'd never be happy with it, honestly. I hope they will do something for you and I'm also hoping it looks worse in the photos than real life.

I would be unhappy with that too. Question I would ask, is this the clear coat of the base paint that is messed up. Clear coat they may be able to sand a little and clear it up...

honestly the truck just doesn't shine as my black duelly does . everything looks just a little dull due to the lumpy paint . its not end of world but think ford could catch and fix before end user gets there truck .

But I'm not a paint shop expert.
dealership says not clear as that's my feeling also
