Short term bandaid

Hey all,

There's no chance of a repaint on my 91 any time soon, but I want to protect it for the time being. The clear coat is shot, I was thinking just clean it and keep it waxed good?

My primary question refers to my drivers side door. It looks like maybe someone had one of those magnetic signs on it? The paint is cracked and rust has popped through. I was thinking I would just rub it down good with Ospho and wax it? I think if I was to repair the paint, I'd have to do the whole truck...

This is the area in question.

The rest of the truck looks like this

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks
