I have developed a leak that looks to be coming from the fuel pressure spring housing on the upper filter bowl. I am wondering if this is a sign of something else going on or maybe just a bad o-ring. I do have an air dog pump, and it was on it when I bought the truck last year. I did have to get a new pump motor for it, and I was thinking maybe it is running to much pressure, but the adjustment for that is on the filter block and not on the pump assembly so not sure about that. Maybe a dirty filter causing to much pressure, or maybe just bad o-ring. I just ordered the blue spring kit, won't be here till monday. Gonna change the filter as soon as parts store gets it to my shop today. Just curious to hear what you pros have to say, maybe I just need to replace o-rings. Tia
Sounds like the bue spring kit will do for the leak. The seals do tend to go out, plus you really want the blue spring to help get to or Around 60 psi fuel pressure. You also might want get a fuel pressure gauge to check what you are getting.
I agree it’s likely the keyhole shaped oh ring seal type thing is the cause
be sure and watch your torque on those screws to match and you can strip the holes out
I had the same leak 2 years ago and replaced it with the blue spring kit. I was new to the diesel community and worried about the possibility of a fire. My friend that owns 2 diesel vans laughed and said you can put out fires with diesel fuel. I fixed the leak and never looked back.
Thanks for the input, and I am currently researching fuel pressure gage set ups. Any thoughts on that, or point me in a direction to go would be great, thanks again.
I shopped a lot and ended up ordering this over the weekend. https://www.glowshiftdirect.com/3in1...ressure-gauge/
I wanted fuel pressure and EGT, on the pillar beside the windshield and also keep my handle there. I couldn’t find a dual analog with those two gauges but this large triple gauge has both those (digital) plus boost - which I don’t pay a lot of attention to for the most part but maybe it will be interesting?
GlowShift price ain’t bad compared to some of the other company’s. I bought the gauge, pod, extension for the fuel pressure sender, adapter for the fuel filter housing, a tap and drill set for the EGT and boost probes, and a couple of fuse box power taps in case I need them. If you want more info, I can post up my order with part numbers and prices. Everything from one place made it simpler order.

Let me know how that kit works out. I am thinking it might be nice to add to my truck.
10-4. I’ve been using that ol ScanGauge forever. It will be nice to put some numbers on those values. I’m a little concerned about the delay of the drive for these as you mentioned it that other thread, but we’ll see I guess. Wish there were other options...
