Fuel Supply Issues 2007 6.0 diesel

I have a 2007 6.0 with 125000 miles. I use Motorcraft fuel filters only to insure I have the vent hole in the correct position. The truck is not modified in anyway. The issue I am having is after about 2000 miles the engine will die. It will not start until I change the lower filter (I change both) while on the side of the road. I have a fuel pressure gauge and when the engine dies I have 0 fuel pressure.Fuel pressure is always 53-60 psi (doesn't fluctuate...60 when cold the gradually drops to around 55 when warmed up) even just before it dies. Engine runs perfectly otherwise. Upon inspection the filter is clean at the vent hole down and just grey in color over the rest of the filter.I pulled the tank and it is unbelievably clean...no water or grime. I never use biodiesel and fuel only from major brand stations that do not contain the 5% biodiesel. My guess is an issue with the low vacuum that draws the fuel from the tank to the fuel pump. When the filter reaches a certain amount of contamination the PCM shuts the fuel pump off. I've checked the line and found no issues. I never seem or heard of anyone having this issue unless they are not using the Motorcraft filters. Is it the fuel pump or is there another issue affecting the PCM which causes it to shut the pump down. It's probably something simple that I am over looking.Any other ideas or possible solutions would greatly be appreciated.

It is normal for fuel pressure to go to zero when the engine shuts off.

Have you noticed if the fuel tank level is low when you experience the problem, or does it also happen with a high tank level?

I don't see much fuel filter contamination in 10k miles. Assuming you don;t go extended miles in-between fuel filter changes, I don't see it being an issue of the filter blinding off. It could be a weak pump.

My fuel level in the tank ranges between 1/2 to 3/4 full. I did replace the pickup foot in the tank when I removed the tank. I have always replaced the filters at 15000 miles. The filter is not dirty after 1500 to 2000 miles, but I think the increase resistance affects the volume of fuel entering the pump. I don't know if a pump that has good output pressure would have a low vacuum to draw fuel to the pump. I don't want to change the pump if something else is causing the PCM to shut the pump down.
If it happens again I guess I will replace the pump.

By the way...Thanks for your response.
