So, work in progress with my truck and the electrical gremlin.
Curious, before I go removing the headliner.. Will I have access to the boot side of the Cab lights when I remove the head liner?? I'd like to remove the headliner and then weather proof from the bottom..
Also, I took the Truck to ford to, well actually, get going on the this gremlin, but i had the CPS portion of the ECM rebuilt, and it was running good. How ever, I noticed that the oil leak i had got worse. So I actually turned the Visit into an oil leak Diagnosis. It's at the shop now, but what I thought was weird, is that i moved the truck, and touched the oil. I wanted to make sure it was oil. Here's the biggest detail: The oil was not hot. I don't even think it was warm. Room temp viscosity.. What in the motor houses Motor oil that is not hot??? The HPOP and reservoir?? I'm pretty sure it was oil..
Thanks guys, I love this truck,,, I learn so much... These trucks are great, but they are like airplanes, you don't turn the key and go. You have to take care of them
Just three holes per light through the roof, two mountings studs and a wire pig tail. No access to the light assembly from inside. If you "waterproof" from the inside the water has already made it past the sheet metal and the light assembly on the roof is full of water. Stock there is a full foam gasket the the seals the light assembly to the cab so water does not get under or into the light assembly. I would replace gaskets if you are having issues.
