2002 Excursion Diesel, Can anyone recommend a source to purchase new fuel filler neck, the hoses to install it and a new fuel pickup/level sender? Quality aftermarket or OEM is fine. Thanks guys, I have searched but these seem hard to come by.
The filler neck on my 01 diesel (and the vent tube) are flexible rubber hoses. They are NOT that metal piece for $281 on eBay posted above. It could be that someone replaced mine with an aftermarket option prior to my purchasing it.
It's listed under fuel sending unit
3c3u9275aa or 3c3z9275aa
The ebay one posted above is cheaper.
On my 03 the neck is metal.
Motorcraft / Fordparts both show that part number fits 2003 to 2005 6.0 diesel Excursions. Not 2000 thru 2003 7.3. Do you know this also works for the older trucks?
YC3Z-9275-AA is the part number Ford comes up with and I cannot match that to a Motorcraft number or find one for less than $400. Wish I knew the difference.
if I may ask, Are you after the fuel sending unit or the pickup part of the assembly ?
Is your filler neck assembly out of the vehicle yet ?
Have you tried the local recycling yards ? I just picked a roof rack up yesterday off a gas Ex. I can see if the filler neck is still in it. ( it is pretty complete )
I'm sorry. I looked it up for my 03.
I would guess all these parts except the sender would interchange since all X's used the same fuel tank regardless of fuel type. For the sender I would guess no difference between 6.0 and 7.3 as it appears they used the same foot.
Looking at rock auto for 01 X I now see your predicament.

Both. I need to replace the original pickup and the fuel gauge has been flakey so should put a new sending unit in while I have the tank down. Same for the filler neck, its not yet leaking but it don't look great so going to replace it while I have the tank down along with the hoses connecting it.
Gas Ex filler is different from the diesel one. I think its tube size but not positive but the part numbers are indeed different.
Has someone here installed the gas part in a diesel truck and can comment first hand experience?
For the filler neck, I'd be interested in a used one in good shape, IE not rusted. The pickup and sender I really want new.
Also I know the pickup screen is available as a separate part. Is the float and sender? The flange and tubing is likely just fine.

I can comment a little bit.
When I did my diesel conversion I just used the v10 filler and knocked out the plastic restrictor for the gas nozzle. Now I have the hole the same size as the pipe. Cap fits on the same, though its not a green one.
If you can live with that difference, you might be all right.
Well I ordered the OEM pickup and sending unit. $428 was the best I could find. Ordered the ebay diesel filler neck and will see what shows up. Once I have it I can measure for the rubber hoses and order those.
