Must have key and a paper clip or strong wire. Insert key, turn to ACC with paper clip depress pin continue turning key counter clock wise until key and cylinder come out. Once out you can turn bezel unscrewing it counter clock wise.
Do this slowly keeping pressure on the backside. once bezel is off slowly remove ignition watching out for the spring. Assembly is reversed.

The spring is not replaceable, only furnished with the switch, and very rarely comes off.

Between the switch (11572) and the backside of the dash is a spacer (10A885).

The switch contains two pins, one larger than the other, ditto the bezel (11584).

When you push the spring loaded switch forward, the bezel does not unscrew, it twists off w/a 1/4" turn.

BEFORE messing with the switch, remove a battery cable!

Been awhile since I did one, Thanks N.D. for the correction. The spacer is what I meant not spring.
I've been doing more bump work than slick work. And working in the hot sun doing asphalt is not helping my memory one bit...... squirrel
Slim pickings in the PnP not able to keep my mind updated and refreshed.

What Bill said and that is 1/4 inch not 1/4 turn. Very much like a tail light bulb!

Re: replacing the ign. sw. in my '65 F-100. I finished the job today. I appreciate your saying to remove a battery cable! I probably would not have. Now I have years to go before I need to put another in it. :-)
