Ignition Switch Replacement - '55 F100

I just got a replacement ignition switch from Mid-Fifty (so one key fits all) and am having trouble getting to the back of it. It's pretty crowded up under that dash. Do I have to remove the emergency brake handle and bracket to get to the switch?? I replaced both door locks and they work on the same key and it sure would be nice if I could start the truck with that key as well. Thanks/Bob.

You should remove the switch from the dash. Some of them you turn a quarter turn to get out, some have a bezel that snaps onto the switch barrel, others you screw off the bezel,

As mentioned above you can hold the switch from the back and turn the light switch bezel and it will turns off; you can also just replace the key ignition block by depressing the tab on top of the light switch (with the key in the ignition) then pull the key block out then do the same on the new one.
