HELP no spark!! 302-351W swap

Truck 95 f150 302 MAF 4r70w auto trans 4x4
Hey guys, just got done swapping in a 351w for my 302, used the 302 computers, wiring harness, and sensors.

Went to start it, and i have NO spark. At all. Check engine light comes on w/ key in run position, fuel pump cycles and goes out as it should. Checked coil with a test light, and I dont get the pulsating light, it just stays on steady. Truck drove into the shop under its own power. Can you guys help me out, maybe send me down a diagnostic path? thanks for any help!

Obviously you have a different distributor under the hood now so all the parts on/in it are suspect. Your truck should have a remote TFI and I'm assuming you didn't change that or the computer so the only thing that did change was the PIP module.

Yes that is true. the only ignition piece that changed was the distributor. if it is faulty, dont suppose parts stores are too keen on taking back opened installed distributors, are they?

Out of curiousity, what if the rotor is NOT spinning when cranking the motor? Whats the most likely problem?

When I saw the 302 351W swap I thought that maybe he might have used the 302 distributor....... if the rotor is not turning the timing chain could be broke, bad dist. gear.... Some people think the 302 dist. are the same, the Windsor is a little longer.... it was just a thought I through out there, ya never know...

5.0 dizzy won't install in a 5.8.. the oil pump driveshaft is larger so it won't fully seat. Course if you displace or remove the oil pump shaft it will drop in but it'll be sloppy in the bore because the body of a 5.8 distributor is a little larger so the hole in the block is also a little larger.
