F- 250 will not start?

F- 250 will not start?
Hello
I drove home last night parked the truck. tried to start the truck and just stutters and quits? Engine light came on with oil light? It has plenty of oil.
Tried to start it a couple of times no go runs rough?
2008 F 250 6.4 Super Duty 22,674 miles
Also has been shifting weird jerks sometimes, at red lights has a bump when stopping, jerks when begin to go?
Any suggestions? Our Ford dealer has closed, 200 miles to the closest place

sounds like an EGR related issue. Confirm when you last changed the fuel filters, type of fuel you are using?
Gonna have to have it towed is my guess. Any chance you have a code reader?

Change your filters before driving it. My guess is either they are all clogged up or like I said you have an EGR issue, perhaps some other sensor as well.
What are the conditions of your tail pipe, clean? Black? moisture?
How about the level in your degas bottle? Where does that stand.
Ever drain your fuel/water separator?

Degas bottle is the coolant bottle. Connects to the radiator and also should have a hose running to the EGR.
EGR is just to the left of center if you are looking at the fan shroud.
I suggest that you look at the teck folders above and start reading. If you have a diesel they require more maintance.
How do you typically drive the truck? Do alot of idleing?

to be of any help I would need to know what the code is.
I would suggest you call 1800-392-3673 and talk to ford customer service.
ford would have to eat the tow bill to get it to the nearist ford dealer.

The de gas is at min level
Ford is going to tow it on monday,
This is my first Ford. I have had four chevs with no problems and one toyota .
Would never get a Dodge
