almost sounds like politicians ....recalls are either for safety because they are mentally challenged, or emissions as in all hot air, but not because they are simply annoying sure wish we could change that

I tried Mobil 1 grease and it didn't work for me. Did it again with the Ford Teflon grease, silky smooth for 15K+ miles. Traded it for the current SD had to do it too with only 38K on the clock. Same results.

[QUOTE=Eatonpcat;14580063]Anybody happen to have a picture of where I need to put the grease?? Thanks[/QUOTE
Under the boot. Once the drive shaft is removed from the truck you need to remove the Oetiker clamp on the boot. I remove the one towards the rear. The grease is then spread around on the splines. After you clean them of course. Fill the female yoke with the remaining grease. Use the whole tube of ford grease. Put the two halves back together and re crimp the clamp. The splines are keyed. You will have to push hard to squease the grease out of the female cavity to fully seat the two halves and to allow the boot to arrive in the right place to allow the clamp to clamp. Mark the shaft on both flanges prior to removal to insure its installed exactly where it was when removed. Please read the link as it explains more.
FYI Ford will have the boot kit with 2 Oetiker clamps for about $50 if you need to go that route. But you will still need the correct Oetiker pinch pliers with the green handles. Google it.
