They say because of the auto dimming mirror its closer to the roof and the pod wont fit between it and the roof. Thats why I was wondering if anyone knew of one that fits with the auto dimming mirror. Guess I should have mentioned that.

My 05 has the auto dimming mirror. I bought a 4 gauge pod to put up there and it will not fit. I am still thinking of installing the pod and moving the mirror down as long as I dont have to move it down too far.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, question is, how do you get the windshield mound off?

You can get the windshield mount off by using a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive. Apply heat and gently move the mirror back and forth and it will eventually come loose then use a razor and solvent to clean off the residue.

Replacement adhesive can be purchased at most any auto parts store.

Thanks for the tip cowboy, now I need to check the cord and make sure I can move it far enough.

The mirror slided off the mount stuck to the window. Then you would need to use some heat and get the mount off the window. Most auto parts stores carry a adhevsive for rear view mirrors. Just need to get some and re stick the mount where you want it. I'm just worried it will be down to far afterwards

Be very careful, too much heat = a cracked windshield.

Ya last winter my brother started his 08 Dodge one morning while the windshield was covered in ice. He put on the defroster to help clear the ice and the window cracked from side to side a few inches up from the bottom.

You wouldn't need that much heat to get the mount off though. As long as the window isnt cold I doubt you would crack it using a heat gun to remove the mount.

Never the less, if there is enough room to move it down, I will let my body shop friend do it as I do not trust myself. I seem to over do things, then I dont have to worry about doing them again.
