DPP Gauge pods

Does anyone have any pictures of the 05 gauge pods dpp offers. They arent piller pods but over head(over rear view mirror). Just curious as to how it look compared to a-pillar pods.

Look near the bottom for the pod, pre-install and post install pictures. I think it is easier to check status while driving using this pod. I didn't have a need for 4 gauges, so went with the 3 spot. I got the wiring harness from DPP as well and it is a great help getting the package running.

Since I'm a total klutz when I have a paint can in hand, my buddy had his wife do the shooting. It looks pretty good in person and to completely match the inside trim I would have to give it a light gloss coat. I will say you need to get the OEM paint from the sponsors or dealer (what's in your wallet?) to get the OEM look, unless you are a custom paint kinda person.

HeavyAssault, the fitting on your OilGuard oil fill cap, is that a quick release, and did it come with the kit?

You can kinda see the back of the pod through the windshield. I have a 2 guage pod and if you look closely at the top of my windshield you can see the pod but it is nothing that jumps out.

One of these days I'll get my pictures taken and posted.

I'll try to get a front shot of the pod add to the site. The pod has a back area that the gauges fit into and helps clean up the look from the outside. If you look at the first pic of the unpainted pod, you will see the area inside that covers the rear of the gauges. Any wires follow a small channel that keeps the pod close to the windshield.

The oil guard is a by-pass filtration system it should extend the oil change interval. There is no quick disconnect fittings in the oil guard system. The oil guard kit comes with replacement caps and fittings that allow the oil to pass out to the filter housing and then back into the engine oil fill point.

The fitting you have on your oil fill cap is different than mine. I found the draw back is that I have to disconect the oil line whenever I have to remove the cap. Does your fitting rotate so you don't have to disconect it from the cap itself.

I disconnect both lines from the caps just to make it easier to service the filter and refill port. Yes the oil fill cap fitting does rotate.

So you don't need to disconect the oil line to remove the cap? I have to carry a wrench with me, just in case I need to add oil.

Yes I can remove the oil fill cap with the line attached since the fitting rotates as I turn the cap.

Are those rear-view mounted gauge pods available in 3 or 4 pods. I may add volts, amps, oil pressure and transfer case temp or something else if there is room. The interior may look a tad cluttered with a 4 pod on the a-pillar as well.

What do you guys think?

They look pretty good.

HeavyAssault... I really like that mounting spot, now I hope I can move my 2-way alarm pager sensor to the side of thew gauge pod since i just remembered it sits right over te rearview mirror. If you know I am gonna look into this more, if not I will call installer and ask if it will interfear.
