We went to the location where it was filmed on the Owens River. I had not seen the scene yet, but now I wish I had taken more pictures. There is a big bend in the river, and a fair sized meadow to my left where the wagon train was shown, and beyond that the "cliff" from where the Indians looked down on them. It's really just a dirt bank, but they can really make it look large on film. This is one of the shots I took. We had to keep a careful eye on the dog, because that river is deep and the banks steep, and flowing very full right now.

Didn't know Graham Greene was in Maverick. After seeing that clip I just might have to check that one out.
Is that spot out behind Lone Pine?
The spot is very near Hwy 168 near Big Pine.
Speaking of Graham Greene, did you know he was in a few of the Red Greene shows? He was the guy always blowing stuff up. One of his funniest scenes was when they were talking about Dances with Wolves, and how he thought the Native American guy should have got an Academy Award or something. He was that guy.
It about floored me the first time I saw him on The Red Green show as the "explosives enthusiast". Never saw the episode you're referring to though.
I thought the "Kicking Bird" character from Dances With Wolves was great. I looked it up and he lost the AA for supporting actor to Joe Pesci for Goodfellas.
Joe Pesci is a great actor. He can play many types of people.
I can name many of the movies he was in, I've seen most of them.
I have Good Fellas on VHS.
