heater not working?
hi all, ive got a problem hopefully can get some help. my heat isnt working at all, the a/c is fabulous but when i turn the temp control **** from cold to hot, theres NO change in the tempature. the fan speed switch works, and the selector switch works as well. oh and the truck is a 1997 f150 4x4 sup/cab a/t 4.6. please let it be an easy fix.

there is a "blend door" that controls the temp. It mixes outside air and heater air to get the proper time... it appears your "door" is not moving. The **** on the dash can be broken and slipping on the shaft. Pull the **** off and see if it is tight on the shaft. TUrn the sahft with a pair of pliers to test... If all is o.k., the blend door motor or crank are is broken. I think you can lay on the drivers door and look up above thegas pedal toward the radio. Should be a motor with 4-5 wire harness going to it. YOu can take the plastic dash panel that sets on the transmission hump off and get a closer view.
