i have the ford upfitter switches in my 07 f350 and i had two flashing lights wired to switch 4 (10 amps) for snow plowing. the lights were LED and shouldnt have drawn much power but suddenly the lights stopped working because thers no power going to the fourth switch.they work on all the other switches. anyone have any ideas as to what could be the problem?
Could have been a short in the wiring you did to the lights that caused the fuse to blow, i.e. water penetrating a connection, etc. Each upfitter switch has it's own fuse in the fuse block located behind the panel that's below the steering wheel. I don't have my manual with my this second, but it's listed in your manual exactly which fuse is for upfitter #4. Chances are that is the culprit.
Followup question: if you turn the switch on, does the indicator light on the switch illuminate? I'm guessing the answer is yes.
I don't have a manual because I put the switches in after I bought it but the indicator light does turn on when the switch is on
No, the manual for the truck, there is no real manual for upfitter switches. Do you have the actual truck owners manual? If you installed the upfitter switches after the fact, but followed the Ford guidelines and installed with the existing wiring, the fuse locations will be the same. Unless you installed them the way I installed my second set and built a wiring harness, fuse block, etc in which case the answer will be different. However I doubt that because the wiring was likely already present, so proceed with checking your owners manual for the truck via hardcopy or the link above.
