I've had a lot of scan tools not comm with these Ford trucks. I can't remember what they charged for a reflash...$90 maybe.

my truck did the same thing about 2 years ago. it was the pcm

do i need to take the entire truck to the dealer to try this pcm reflash? or can i just remove the pcm and take it in

also if the pcm is completely shot and needs to be replaced whats the best route for getting a replacement? if i get one from the scrap yard does it need to be everything matching? mine is a 97 f350 crew cab long box i am only guessing the donor truck pcm would have to be the same?
