I've tried to follow the following steps to program a new keyless entry remote on my 1994 F150 but I can't get past step one. My truck doesn't respond. I've tried it 5 times and 8 times which I've heard works for newer vehicles. I've tried ending in run and ending in off. My truck just doesn't respond. Any ideas?
1. Insert the keys in the ignition and turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN, five times within ten seconds, ending in RUN. If the vehicle has successfully entered the program mode, it will lock and then unlock all doors automatically.
2. Press ANY button on a keyless entry remote transmitter and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each keyless entry remote transmitter has been activated. NOTE: When the first keyless entry remote transmitter is programmed, all existing keyless entry remote transmitters are erased.
3. Repeat the previous step for each transmitter that will operate the vehicle.
4. If the door locks do not respond for any keyless entry remote transmitter, wait 10 seconds and press the button again.
Some trucks wont respond to the self program mode and for some reason they can never figure out why at work. But there is a connector under the steering column towards the passenger side that if you jump it with a paperclip it should lock and unlock the doors quickly then press a button on the remote and it should accept it.
Hi - I have a 94 F150 also, and have tried jumping the pins in the programming connector without any success. I sit in the truck, fasten my seatbelt, unlock the doors, turn key to ACC (or to RUN), then jump the pins. The doors do not lock/unlock to confirm programming mode. Does anyone know if I run a voltmeter across those pins what I'll find? My one remote works fine...just trying to add additional remotes. Appreciate any ideas...thanks! Charlie
