I have the Edge Evolution chip that I just recently bought from my roommate. He has the same truck that I do and I have used this chip in the past we then put it back on his truck for a few months. Yesterday we took the chip off his truck after returning his to stock and installed it on mine. I hooked it all up the same way as before and got it installed and I started to install a power program. Once the programming bean it got part way through and then acted like it reset itself and said the last programming session had failed. I now cannot get it to install it either freezes up when saying it initializing or when unlocking the PCM. If I can get it past this point it just keeps telling me the PCM is not responding press any button to return to stock. When I do so it usually freezes after writing the files. I of course am afraid to start my truck now because the check engine light is now on and I don't want to fry the PCM. Anyone have any suggestions?
Yea we've moved it before a couple times and it was fine but this time not so much. Ive been tryin to get a hold of them this mornin no luck so far thanks.
Another reason to go with SCT! I had the exact happen to me (but had never installed it before, bought it from a friend). Called SCT and got the tech in less than a minute and he fixed it right then and there over the internet.
Got a hold of edge and they reprogrammed the chip through my computer and sent me a Stock writer for my truck and I rewrote my PCM to stock and then put the chip on it and it works great now. Everything was free of charge from edge.
