I recently purchased a early 99 f350 that had a chip that wasn't installed. the chip was hanging under the fuse panel. I think the dealers unhooked it when they were selling it. It is a diesel innovations chip. I popped the cover off of the pcm and installed the chip. Disconnecting the negitives on both batteries before, reconnecting them after. Now the truck will not start.
I disconnected the batteries took the chip out reconnected and the truck still won't start.
The wait to start light will not come on anymore.
What can I do just to get the truck up and going without the chip. I've learned my leason and will take it to a shop to have them install the chip. I really would just like to be able to start the truck and drive it to the shop
Thanks for the response. That is actually what I used to guide me with the install, the only problem now obviously is the truck won't start. I will give them a call in the morning, but I would really love to be able to drive it tomorrow if I can without the chip
Will it crank? Does everything else work like it should? You may have popped a fuse, or you may have bumped a wire that shorted out.
Everything seems to be working like it should. The wait to start light does not come on. The water in fuel light does not come on. Other than that I haven't noticed anything else not working, well, besides the fact that it cranks but does not turn over
